Day 33

Went to Claire de Lunes with a friend today and when we were leaving I couldn't help but notice these cops arresting some stoners. Then I saw a guy taking a photo of the same scene at a different angle after me. Oh how society amuses me.

Day 32

I am still pondering whether or not I am in love with this photo. It is a composite of two long exposure photos of the front and back of my home. I am fascinated by the light and color, but I don't know why but I am uneasy about it for some reason.

Day 30

Day one of clean house. My body is still a little sore from scrubbing the tub. When we went to the hardware store, I started taking photos and playing around with them a bit.

Day 29

I was kicking myself for not taking my camera when I went out for sushi with Anna today. But after I just got this shot, I'm okay. I actually like the way it came out. The line of city lights are of TJ (you can see it from the bedroom window). I just love the close private feeling of this photo. I wasn't sure if I liked the blurriness that you get from the window reflection, but it kind of works for the photo, don't you think?

Day 28

Over finals week I completely let my room go. It became a real mess. What you see here isn't half of it. Tomorrow will be my official first day of break, so I will start then.

Monday, May 24, 2010

Day 27

So I was just playing around with the exposure at a party. I really like the color in this one, so I chose this as the photo of the day.

Day 26

I graduated from USD today. Very exciting, but now I have to wait and hope I actually passed all of my classes this semester. Congrats to all other 2010 grads.

Saturday, May 22, 2010

Day 25

Today was the party for my nephew. This picture isn't of him, but she is just too adorable to pass up.

Friday, May 21, 2010

Day 24

One of my goals for this project is to avoid doing just snap shots, but I had to make a cake for my nephew's birthday so my day was pretty busy doing that.

Thursday, May 20, 2010

Day 23

I am in the home stretch. I just finished almost all of my papers. I have one more in class final and my senior thesis then I am officially done with undergrad. It is funny though that I will be walking in my graduation before I am actually done with all my classes.

Day 22

This isn't one of my favorite photos, but I always find it interesting to see people photographing things. I also love the way the man's back curves ever so gently while his front... and the juxtaposition of plant size to him is pretty cool too.

Day 21

Its finals week. My brain is really all over the place even though I have been lucky enough to get full nights of sleep. I am currently working on putting together my photo portfolio so most of my time is being spent either in front of a computer editing and printing (or yelling at printers depending on the way you look at it) or in the dark room being splashed with chemicals since the basics class does not know dark room etiquette.

Monday, May 17, 2010

Day 20

I intend to create a double exposure using this image and one I took with a Pentax medium format camera. But for now, here is my photo for the day.

Sunday, May 16, 2010

Day 19

It was the last mass at Founder's Chapel for the semester. It was the candle light service and my last time altar serving in the chapel. The next time I will be there will be for my wedding. Anyway, my sister helped me take this picture since I was altar serving. We make a pretty good team if I do say so for myself.

Saturday, May 15, 2010

Day 18

My sister and I went to Balboa Park today again and there were so many weddings occurring. My favorite was the super loud mariachi band in the San Diego Historical Museum.

Friday, May 14, 2010

Day 17

So it may not be the best focused shot but I loved the color of the motorcyclist.

Thursday, May 13, 2010

Day 16

You know there is something I really love about this photo. I think it has something to with my sister's expression, but whatever it is, it looks cool.

Wednesday, May 12, 2010

Day 15

My dad is always working on some project. I think that is where I get my love of projects from.

Day 13

I realized I hadn't taken a photo today. I am going into finals week, so my head is all over the place. Paul helped me take this one as he was playing with his webcam. His computer does silly tricks like putting a mustache on you or turning you into a wolf. But enough about his PC.

Sunday, May 9, 2010

Day 12

For Mother's Day we took a trip to the cemetery and honored those mothers who had passed. We love them all very much and miss them just the same. Happy Mother's Day to all living and passed, thank you for all you have done for those you have cared for.

Saturday, May 8, 2010

Day 11

Okay so I was pushing this one today. I didn't really have a chance to take a photo because I was doing homework all day or didn't have my camera on hand. I know, I know, I should have at least my small camera. I almost did use my camera phone at one point, but I convinced myself not to. Well this one isn't edited so it isn't one of my favorites, but it is still pretty interesting.

Friday, May 7, 2010

Day 10

In class we have been working on cyanotypes. They have been pretty interesting. What we do is create our own negatives on transfilm, paint the liquid cyanotype solution on a paper, and develop the image in the sunlight. Here is one of my pieces.

Thursday, May 6, 2010

Day 9

Continuing my project in the kitchen, I photographed a friend's work. I tried black and white and digital for this one. I have yet to work on the b/w roll so, here is the digital in the mean time.

Wednesday, May 5, 2010

Day 8

I'm not sure why I decided to make my portraits into triptychs; I blame it on the art history major.

Tuesday, May 4, 2010

Day 7

I almost forgot to take a photo today honestly. I roamed a bit in the art department here at school. This is a photo of a project a student was doing at school.

Monday, May 3, 2010

Day 6

For my last photo project we were required to make what is called double exposure prints. Basically, a roll of film goes through the camera twice and the photos get imposed on each other. I focused on the back of house in a restaurant and took pictures of the chef working, then I went back and took pictures of them outside of work relaxing and showing off their burns. Well as I said earlier, I went to The Lodge at Torrey Pines and took photos of the chef there. Those photos were done digitally, so I decided to try and edit them on photoshop and have them appear to be double exposures. It seems to have worked out pretty well. I am not sure if I prefer the control of doing it digitally or the almost magic in the surprise when doing it with film.

Sunday, May 2, 2010

Day 5

Today the New York Times was hosting "A Moment in Time." They asked for any person with a camera to take a picture at 15:00 U.T.C. For me it was about 8am and I was just waking up for mass. Paul wouldn't get out of bed, but he insisted that I wake up, so here you go.

Day 4

It seems as though college hadn't been much different than high school. I basically have been doing the same thing: trying to cram in book after book and hoping that if i don't do the reading I can still get by with a good grade. Yeah, I suppose I haven't changed much either; I have learned how to do the minimum work and still get A's and B's fairly easily. Hopefully by the time I graduate (which is in less than 22 days) I can come up with actual wisdom I have gained by going to college. I have paid enough for it.
