Day 33
Went to Claire de Lunes with a friend today and when we were leaving I couldn't help but notice these cops arresting some stoners. Then I saw a guy taking a photo of the same scene at a different angle after me. Oh how society amuses me.

Day 29
I was kicking myself for not taking my camera when I went out for sushi with Anna today. But after I just got this shot, I'm okay. I actually like the way it came out. The line of city lights are of TJ (you can see it from the bedroom window). I just love the close private feeling of this photo. I wasn't sure if I liked the blurriness that you get from the window reflection, but it kind of works for the photo, don't you think?

Day 21
Its finals week. My brain is really all over the place even though I have been lucky enough to get full nights of sleep. I am currently working on putting together my photo portfolio so most of my time is being spent either in front of a computer editing and printing (or yelling at printers depending on the way you look at it) or in the dark room being splashed with chemicals since the basics class does not know dark room etiquette.

Day 19
It was the last mass at Founder's Chapel for the semester. It was the candle light service and my last time altar serving in the chapel. The next time I will be there will be for my wedding. Anyway, my sister helped me take this picture since I was altar serving. We make a pretty good team if I do say so for myself.

Day 13
I realized I hadn't taken a photo today. I am going into finals week, so my head is all over the place. Paul helped me take this one as he was playing with his webcam. His computer does silly tricks like putting a mustache on you or turning you into a wolf. But enough about his PC.

Day 11
Okay so I was pushing this one today. I didn't really have a chance to take a photo because I was doing homework all day or didn't have my camera on hand. I know, I know, I should have at least my small camera. I almost did use my camera phone at one point, but I convinced myself not to. Well this one isn't edited so it isn't one of my favorites, but it is still pretty interesting.

Day 10
In class we have been working on cyanotypes. They have been pretty interesting. What we do is create our own negatives on transfilm, paint the liquid cyanotype solution on a paper, and develop the image in the sunlight. Here is one of my pieces.

Day 9
Continuing my project in the kitchen, I photographed a friend's work. I tried black and white and digital for this one. I have yet to work on the b/w roll so, here is the digital in the mean time.

Day 8
I'm not sure why I decided to make my portraits into triptychs; I blame it on the art history major.

Day 7
I almost forgot to take a photo today honestly. I roamed a bit in the art department here at school. This is a photo of a project a student was doing at school.

Day 6
For my last photo project we were required to make what is called double exposure prints. Basically, a roll of film goes through the camera twice and the photos get imposed on each other. I focused on the back of house in a restaurant and took pictures of the chef working, then I went back and took pictures of them outside of work relaxing and showing off their burns. Well as I said earlier, I went to The Lodge at Torrey Pines and took photos of the chef there. Those photos were done digitally, so I decided to try and edit them on photoshop and have them appear to be double exposures. It seems to have worked out pretty well. I am not sure if I prefer the control of doing it digitally or the almost magic in the surprise when doing it with film.

Day 5
Today the New York Times was hosting "A Moment in Time." They asked for any person with a camera to take a picture at 15:00 U.T.C. For me it was about 8am and I was just waking up for mass. Paul wouldn't get out of bed, but he insisted that I wake up, so here you go.

Day 4
It seems as though college hadn't been much different than high school. I basically have been doing the same thing: trying to cram in book after book and hoping that if i don't do the reading I can still get by with a good grade. Yeah, I suppose I haven't changed much either; I have learned how to do the minimum work and still get A's and B's fairly easily. Hopefully by the time I graduate (which is in less than 22 days) I can come up with actual wisdom I have gained by going to college. I have paid enough for it.
